Please can everyone note that, the clay experiments in this section are based on personal preferences & blends... and everyone should always follow the manufactures requirements.....


]INFO ABOUT POLYMER CLAY
(Definition from Wikipedia)

Polymer Clay is a Sculpt-able material based on the 'Polymer Polyvinyl Chloride' (PVC). It usually contains No Clay Materials , and is only called "Clay", because it's texture and working properties resemble those of mineral clay.
Polymer Clay contain a basic PVC and one or more of several kinds of a liquid Plastizer.
Pigment is added to create a assortment of colours..
To give different levels of 'Opacity', Kaoline or White China is also added.

The Polymer Clay Brands....

Fimo....

Fimo Classic.....


INFO: The original Fimo, A soft textured Clay. Once baked can be drilled, cut, painted, sanded, & sliced.
COLOURS: Available in 24 colours
SIZE: Available in 15g miniblocks, 56g blocks & 350g block (this size only available in White, Transparent,

Black, Champagne, Light Flesh, & Leaf green).
BAKE: 110°C for 30 mins


Fimo Soft......


INFO: Soft & easy to use
COLOURS: 48 colours available.
SIZE: Available in 14g miniblocks & 56g blocks
BAKE: 110°C for 30 mins

Doll Fimo......


INFO: (PUPPENFIMO) Specially created for Doll Making, Has a smooth, and Flesh-like finish when cured. A soft & easy to use clay.
COLOURS: Available in only 3 colours, Rose, Porcelain & Natural.
SIZE: 65g pack & 500g pack
BAKE:

Fimo Mixquick.....


INFO: Mix 1 part to 2 part Fimo. Softens Fimo and makes the clay soft & easy to use, ideal for reviving old clay.
COLOUR: Milky White/Transparent.

Sculpey ......

Sculpey III......


INFO: A creamy Soft Clay. But due to it sometimes been brittle after baking, is not suitable for items needing strength.
COLOURS: Large Variety of Colours.
SIZE: 56g blocks, & New 1lb pack (Only Available in this size in Black & White)
BAKE: 130°C for 15 mins per 1/4 inch thickness.

Super Sculpey.....


INFO: A lot stronger clay then the original sculpey.
COLOURS: Available in Pink-Beige Only
SIZE: Available in 1lb blocks, 8lb Box & 24lb box
BAKE: 130°C for 15 mins per 1/4 inch thickness.

Super Sculpey FIRM.......


INFO: Very Firm Clay, which is great for carving and perfect for fine detailing.
COLOUR: Only available in Grey
SIZE: Only available in 1lb blocks
BAKE:

Premo.......


INFO: Firm, Smooth Clay. Extremely Durable after baking.
COLOURS: Artist's Coloured Palette
SIZE: 56g block & 1lb block
BAKE: 130°C for 30 mins per 1/4 inch thickness.

Sculpey UltraLight.........


INFO: Soft & light Clay that bakes very hard, won't crack or brake... yet is flexible, even when rolled thin. Great for paper crafts. So light that will float on water.
COLOURS:
SIZE: 10.3 oz packs (292g)
BAKE: Bake on a oven-proof glass or metal surface.... 130°C for 15 mins per 1/4 inch thickness.

Living Doll.......


INFO: Professional Doll Clay, has a excellent sculpting properties, and is Extremely strong after baking. Clay can be tinted prior to cooking.
COLOURS: Available in 3 colours.... Beige (caucasian Flesh), Light Brown & Ethnic Brown.
SIZE: 56g sample blocks & 1lb blocks
BAKE:

Original Sculpey......


INFO: Feels like Ceramic Clay. Is a soft & pliable, and is hard when baked.
COLOURS: White or Terra-Cotta
SIZE: 1lb, 8lb, 24lb box
BAKE:

Sculpey Moldmaker......


INFO: Extra soft & pliable, and be used as a clay softener, by adding 1% to the total clay amount... or for making molds.
COLOURS: Off-White
SIZE:
BAKE:

Bake and Bend......


INFO: Bendable clay after baking, very flexible.
COLOURS: Variety of bright colours
SIZE:
BAKE: 140°C for 20 mins per 1/4 inch thickness

Eraser Clay.......


INFO: As the packet says.... makes erasers once baked.
COLOURS: Variety of bright colours
SIZE:
BAKE:

Grantex.........


INFO: Ideal for creating stone, and is a soft & pliable clay, similar to sculpey III.
COLOURS: Mixed Granite effect, many in pastel shades
SIZE:
BAKE: 130°C for 15 mins per 1/4 inch thickness


Creall-Therm Clays....

*** Been Discontinued by the Manufacturer***

SIZE: 65g blocks & 15g miniblocks



Cernit......

INFO: Strong Clay & Flexible when cured, Elastic Clay
COLOURS: 27 Colours
SIZE: 2.3oz blocks, 250gm blocks (Only in White), 500gm (Only in The Doll variety)
BAKE: 130°C for 10 - 30 mins.


Kato.....

INFO: New clay, ideal for Millefiore Caning, as has a superior cured strength.
COLOURS: Has a limited range of colours at the present time.
SIZE: Available in 85g (3oz) blocks & 354g (12.5oz) blocks (Only in white & black)
BAKE: 130°C for 30 mins per 1/4 thickness

Liquid Clays.....

INFO: Both Fimo, Sculpey & Kato provide a liquid Clay... This translucent liquid is ideal as a extender, softener, adhesive, or finishing coat.
It can also be used for making photo-transfers... Can be coloured by adding paint, ink or dry pigments.
Available in a variety of sized bottle, depending on the manufacturer.


Apoxie Clay.....

INFO: This is a none Polymer Clay, but a self hardening 2 part product, which has a putty like feel...
Working Time is between 1 - 3 hours, and cures hard in 24 hours.
This product is very strong & can withstand temperatures upto 350°.
COLOURS: White Only
SIZE: Available in 1lb kits & 4lb Kits
